Invitation to attend the Washington Small Business Forum on May 29  (RSVP by May 19)  4/30/2014

Dear Business Organization & Government Agency representatives:

You are invited to attend the Washington Small Business Forum on Thursday, May 29, 2012.  We will be meeting at the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries’ offices in Tukwila. The forum will be from 9:00am until noon.  We hold a forum every six months, and the agencies and organizations that have participated find the information, opportunity to network and exchange of ideas very valuable.

We have several informative presentations this time –

Victoria Wortberg, from the Washington Center for Women in Business/Thurston EDC, will give us some important information on how our organizations can better help women entrepreneurs succeed.

Tobi Snyder, from the Secretary of State’s Office, Corporations Division, will tell us about changes coming in June to the way businesses submit conversions.

Brenda Riley, from the Washington State Department of Revenue, Business Licensing Services, will talk about changes to corporation and LLC renewals and changes to increase online filing.

Jane Wines, from the U.S. Department of Labor, Employee Benefits Security Administration, will give us updates on requirements employers have under the Affordable Care Act.

See the attached flyer for directions and details.

The purpose of the Small Business Forum is to assemble representatives from business and industry organizations, along with representatives of various federal and state government agencies to hear presentations, as well as to provide a time and place for roundtable discussion.

This forum will be hosted by the IRS and the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries.

I will send out an agenda as we get closer to the forum date.

We look forward to seeing you or someone else from your organization at the forum on May 29th.  Please let me know by May 19th if you plan to attend, so we can ensure that we have enough handout materials.  Please email or call me if you have any questions.

Thank you, Kari
