New presentation added! Invitation to attend the Washington Small Business Forum on June 15 in Tukw     5/27/2016

This is a reminder that you are invited to attend the Washington Small Business Forum on Wednesday, June 15, 2016.  We will be meeting at the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries’ offices in Tukwila. The forum will be from 9:00am until noon.  We hold a forum twice a year, and the agencies and organizations that have participated find the information, opportunity to network and exchange of ideas very valuable.

We have added one more presentation to the agenda, Celia Nightingale from the Center for Business & Innovation, so this should be a fantastic forum!

Andy Cameron from the US Department of Labor will let us know about retirement plan options for small businesses.

Patrick Reed of the Secretary of State’s Office will update us on new state legislation affecting small businesses.

James McCafferty from the Center for Economic and Business Research at WWU will tell us about research and analysis projects that the Center for Economic and Business Research at Western Washington University conducts and how they can help small businesses.

Celia Nightingale from the Center for Business & Innovation

In Thurston County will talk about the Center and what they have to offer small businesses, and also about ScaleUp, a new SBA-funded program for established businesses.

Tuyen Manikhoth from the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries will give us an overview of L&I’s Stay At Work Program.

See the attached flyer for directions and details.

The purpose of the Small Business Forum is to assemble representatives from business and industry organizations, along with representatives of various federal and state government agencies to hear presentations, as well as to provide a time and place for roundtable discussion.

We look forward to seeing you or someone else from your organization at the forum on June 15th.  Please let me know by June 3rd if you plan to attend, so we can ensure that we have enough handout materials.  Please email or call me if you have any questions.

Thank you, Kari
