BLS Discontinuing Services on Behalf of SOS     12/12/2017

As you all may know, the Office of the Secretary of State (OSOS) launched their new filing system (CCFS) for registering and maintaining legal business entities in Washington on November 13th.  While the OSOS had previously contracted with Department of Revenue’s Business Licensing Services (BLS) to handle annual report filings for Corporation, LLC, MA Trusts, and entity dissolutions, the OSOS’s new filing system allows them to resume these responsibilities in-house.  Starting January 1, 2018, BLS will no longer be providing these services and legal entities must file their annual reports directly with the OSOS.  The Department of Revenue - Business Licensing Service will continue to be the place for businesses to apply for and renew their business licenses.

The OSOS will continue to use the existing interface to send BLS the same information it receives today.  The legal entity information you and other BLS partners rely on for your business processes should not be impacted.
