Jefferson County Comprehensive Plan Update Process

2015
- Staff and Planning Commission discuss possible amendments to comp plan and development codes.
- County and City jointly reivew and approve population projections for each jurisdicitons's comp plan update
2016
- Staff and Planning Commission continue review and drafting of potential amendments at monthly meetings
- Summer public outreach meetings are held May through September at local communities.
- Public comments received through meetings, survey and other sources reviewed and tablulated for analysis
- Begin drafting "docket" of potential amendments
2017
- Draft docket of proposed amendments prepared by March 1
- Publish public hearing notice for Planing Commission public hearing on docket in April
- Planning Commission forwards preliminar docket to BOCC in May.
- Potential BOCC public hearing - approves docket list by June
- Staff review and recommendation of final docket amendments by August
- Planning Commission public hearing on docket list in September. Recommend docket to BOCC
- Potential BOCC public hearing on docket in October -November
- BOCC final adoption of approved docket amendments in December
