If you enjoy using or viewing the County’s shorelines, or if you are ashoreline property owner, we encourage you to join us and participate in theSMP update process.

Whitman County Coalition SMP Update Open House

The County, Cities and Towns must update their Shorelines Master Plan forshorelines within our jurisdiction in accordance with the Shoreline ManagementAct and receive state approval, but the plan is locally prepared and representsthe visions and interests of our communities. Whitman County, along with the Citiesof Colfax, Palouse, Pullman and Tekoa and the Towns of Albion, Malden andRosalia, are working cooperatively to update their existing Shoreline MasterPrograms (SMP) as a partnership coalition.

 The Coalition invites you to anOpen House to introduce the SMP Update and hear your ideas about the future of WhitmanCounty’s shorelines.
