Update from Kahle Jennings 7/20/2016 Phase I: $900,000 was awarded for construction of Phase 1. City has spent $450,000 as of June 30th for land acquisition, plan design and permitting but none of this was charged to the $900,000 construction funds. City has obtained grading permit from Lewis County and HPA from WDFW. City has not yet obtained required permits from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This is a concern that is compromising the timeline. City has started accumulating trees with rootwads attached required for the habitat improvements in the plans City is saving the $900,000 in construction funds for construction. Phase II: $200,000 was awarded for Phase 2 design and permitting. That work is underway. To date, City has been charging everything I could against remaining WSDOT funds because they were only available through June 30, 2016. Starting July 1 City will charge design and permitting work against the Phase 2 $200,000.
