MTCA Cleanup Rule

STAG Supplemental Zoom webinar on Disproportionate Cost Analysis
7/22/2020
Online & Phone

The purpose of the webinar is to help STAG members better understand how to conduct a disproportionate cost analysis (DCA) to determine which cleanup action alternative is permanent to the maximum extent practicable. This analysis is required when selecting a MTCA cleanup action.  See RCW 70.105D.030(1)(b) and WAC 173-340-360(3).

During the webinar, Ecology will provide a focused briefing on how to conduct a DCA and provide examples.  We will then invite and respond to questions from STAG members.  We’ll also answer questions from the public as time allows.

STAG members are currently reviewing Ecology’s draft changes to the remedy selection process, and have requested further explanation and discussion of DCA procedures.  The draft changes are not intended to substantively change the effect of the current rule, but should make it easier to understand and apply.  Ecology has extended the due date for STAG comments on the draft rule change until Friday, July 31, 2020.
