QUADCO receives Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) funds from WSDOT for regional distribution through a competitive application process. TAP monies can be used for non-motorized transportation projects, including on- and off-road pedestrian and bicycle facilities, infrastructure projects for improving non-driver access to public transportation and improved mobility, community improvement activities, and environmental remediation; recreational trail program projects; and federally funded safe routes to school projects. When funds become available, a "Call for Projects" announcement will be listed under the "What's New" tab.
It is recognized that some regionally significant needs will be difficult to fund, therefore consideration of alternative sources of funding must be found. Below is a non-exhaustive list of additional funding sources for other transportation related projects.

The purpose of the Safe Routes to Schools program is to improve safety and mobility for children by enabling and encouraging them to walk and bicycle to school. Funding from this program is for projects within two-miles of primary, middle and high schools (K-12). |
| Washington State | Transportation Improvement Board | The Washington State Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) funds high priority transportation projects in communities throughout the state to enhance the movement of people, goods and services. TIB is an independent state agency, created by the Legislature that distributes and manages street construction and maintenance grants to 320 cities and urban counties throughout Washington State. Funding for TIB's grant programs comes from revenue generated by three cents of the statewide gas tax. |
