Affordable Housing Planning Resources

Draft objective design standards are below and Commerce is currently accepting comments on these drafts. To submit comments please email shane.hope@commerce.wa.gov.  The objective design standards are separated into base standards and optional standards. The base standards were developed before E2SHB 1110 was adopted as law. It should also be noted that these standards are only a starting point available as a resource and are in no way mandatory. They are intended as a starting point, and should be heavily customized by jurisdictions before adoption.
